It was an exciting time in the Jester Monster Truck team’s first ever visit to Oakland, California and one they certainly won’t forget. The huge floor of the Oakland Coliseum would play host to Saturday’s event where a packed house braved some uncertain weather and cool temperatures for a night of wild action. Jester pilot Matt Pagliarulo was excited to take on the track and thrill the fans along the way. The night started off with qualifying, where the Jestalade didn’t quite have the pace to make the racing bracket, but they would return in the wheelie contest to finish second behind Wrecking Crew. Freestyle would be where Pagliarulo and the Jester would shine their brightest with one of their best performances ever. Pagliarulo started off strong with some nice air and kept up a strong pace throughout his run to keep the action going. With around 30 seconds left in their freestyle time, Pagliarulo and Jester lined up for the backflip ramp to make their first ever attempt at the move, and it would be a spectacular one at that. As the truck left the ramp it went skyward and rotated around for a massive backflip! As the front wheels hit the ground it bounced the truck backwards onto the wheelie bar but stopped just before rolling over backwards. Pagliarulo was able to put the truck in reverse so bring the front wheels down and perform a couple more jumps before finishing out the freestyle. The score would be a huge one at 36 points and would hold strong throughout the competition, eventually resulting in a tie between Jester and Son-uva Digger. After the tie-breaking process Son-uva Digger would be given the win, but Pagliarulo and company were still thrilled with a well deserved second place result. A big thanks to the crew for their continued hard work so far this season and thank you to all our wonderful sponsors who support us week in and week out. It’s been an awesome first quarter so far with many opportunities to meet countless new Jester fans. The team takes a brief break after the event in Oakland to regroup before heading down to El Paso, Texas for two more huge stadium events at the UTEP Sun Bowl.

For the Florida based Jester Monster Truck team getting to perform in their homestate of Florida is always a special occasion, and getting to perform at Jacksonville’s EverBank Field in front of a sell out crowd of over 70,000 fans makes it all that much more special. With a strong year on the Monster Jam circuit so far the Jester team was looking to make their mark in Jacksonville and they did just that with a great performance.
The night started out with qualifying where Matt Pagliarulo and Jester gave it their best to crack the top eight of the time sheet, but unfortunately they didn’t have the pace to make the racing bracket. However they were able to compete in the donut contest and whipped the Jester around to a score of 28 which was good enough for a solid fourth place finish.
Freestyle was where Pagliarulo and the Jester shined as they came out of the pits in full attack mode and took to the course with a great freestyle. The freestyle run started off with some big air and they continued to air it out throughout the course of their run. The highlight moment of the performance came about halfway through regulation time when the Jester took an awkward bounce from a sky wheelie. As the truck pitched over into what looked like a sure rollover, Pagliarulo had the magic touch to save the truck from crashing. They would keep up the momentum from the save into some more big air and a great set of cyclone donuts to finish up their run. The result was a score 36 which was good enough for fourth place in freestyle. It was quite an honor for Pagliarulo finishing just behind some of the sports’ top drivers like Carl VanHorn, Ryan Anderson, and Jimmy Creten.
A big thanks to all the support from our friends, family, fans, and sponsors alike. Our next stop brings us to Atlanta, Georgia for another big Monster Jam stadium event!
The Tomfoolery Motorsports gang headed south to Houston, Texas for a massive two show Monster Jam weekend at NRG Stadium where Matt Pagliarulo and the Jester Monster Truck were joining a field of the finest Monster Jam trucks. It would be a grueling weekend with some ups and downs but a weekend to remember for the Jester crew. Read more →
